<br />
A friend of mine, Dawn Roberts, came to the house and made some gorgeous photos of our family. We had a blast and she has such a talent. Makes me miss my sister, Heather, while she is out of the country in the final stages of adopting her new addition.<br />

<br />
The kids had a blast. The little boy was hilarious with this firetruck. He loved ringing the bell.<br />

Where has the time gone?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I have put some thought into starting back on the blog. I really have wanted to be blogging over the past several months, but time and energy and a pregnancy have gotten most of my attention. So, I hope to be more faithful in recording our life story. After all, I want Ella to look back on the joyous life we have created for her. And, of course, her baby brother will see the fun he had with Big Sis. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Before getting back to life, I want to share a story about past times. I would love to give the full story, but I think I will make it as short and sweet as possible... for my sake. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Today is October 15th, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. I have so much to remember. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Last week was 5 years ago that we lost our first little love. Hard to believe it has really been five years. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Back in 2000, I had my first emergency surgery removing my left ovary and part of my right one. I won't go into details about cysts and blood and other bodily issues, but it was tough to handle physically and emotionally. Waking up to the news that my left ovary was completely infected and my right was partially dead, and had to be removed, was so bizarre. I had been seeing an OB for years and had never been told my uterus was covered in cysts, small and large. My doctor, which I believe we met because of fate, said he removed most of the problem, however, he diagnosed with me with Severe Endometrosis. I had heard of this before because my Grandmother had the same problem. Hereditary, yes. He then continued to see me year after year, and more than once a year.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I constantly lived with pain, stress, and depression. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Year after year, I had some form of issue that caused hospitalization. Whether it was laprascopy because of so much scar tissue, removing cysts and draining blood, removing gall bladder, removing appendix(the last two were not due to the endometrosis, but because mine were in bad shape).. and so on, to cause 17 total scars. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">December 12, 2006 was a rough one and I remember it well. It was my last surgery. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">We decided it would be best for me to go on Lupron injections since every type of birth control, which I took to attempt to reduce the menstrual pain, <u>never worked</u>. Lupron is menopause in a shot. Yuck. Let me just go on the record saying that one day when I go through menopause again, for real, it will be just as bad as the first time, I am sure of it. I can't believe at the age of 26, I was like that of a 56 years old. Night sweats are real. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">So, January through June, I saw my doctor every month to get my little bit of craziness. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Aaron and I married in July. I told him he was marrying an old lady. We had a fantastic wedding and perfect honeymoon. We must have had a perfect honeymoon because I got pregnant. :) </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It was a difficulty pregnancy and at 12 weeks, I lost the baby. I will never begin to be able to describe how I felt learning that my baby had problems and would not make it...... Let's move along...</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">On January 4, 2008, a miracle happened. I got pregnant again. I had Ella at 37 weeks on September 23rd, and was the happiest mommy in the world. My pregnancy with Ella was a tough one. I was beyond sick the entire time. My final weight gain(or loss) was a negative 1. Labor and delivery was so much easier than everyone had ever explained to me. The whole pushing for hours and days or whatever, blah, blah, blah, this was not my situation. I said I deserve a simple delivery after vomiting for 8 months. And thank you God for it. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Ella is so wonderful. She was born healthy and has not been a sick child at all. I know our time is coming when she starts pre-K next year that the germs will get to us, but I hope it moves along quickly. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Our lives have been nothing but joyous because of our little Ella-bella. The bouncing curls, the love to dance, and her serious passion of being a born leader have filled these first four years.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">We were totally set with our one baby girl. Little did we know that I could and would get pregnant again. I found out I was pregnant and was scared and cried a lot. The nervousness made me a little crazy. I look back on it now and just know I was afraid of rejection again. All thanks to God that he gave us Caleb on August 6th, the day before Aaron's birthday. Again, a 37 week baby and a very rough pregnancy. However, this time I gained more than I would like to admit. I'm not sure how that happened after hugging the toilet so, so much.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">On the morning of August 6th, at 2:45 am, my water broke. I had been up and down all night, as the same of every other night, because of the pain in my leg from the pressure on my sciatic nerve. I woke Aaron up and told him it was the day. We got up and I took a shower and shaved my legs while Aaron called our moms and I called Heather. They all warned me to not wait too long becasue Caleb would come much quicker than Ella and my tolerance to pain was so high that I could actually be further along in labor than I thought. So, after my lengthy shower and detailed cleaning, going through our bags again to make sure everything was packed, getting Ella off to my mom's house, and watching Aaron pace, we were ready to go. We arrived at the hospital and were checked in a few minutes before 6:00 am. Secretly, I would have stayed in the bed a little longer if it was up to me.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Caleb arrived at 11:40 am. I could have delivered a lot earlier if they would have just given me a Coke as requested and if Dr. Blake wasn't so busy. I mean, what is up with telling me to not push? I didn't mind who delieverd as long as someone was down there to catch the boy. Feeling those contrations could have been over long before. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">But, I will say that I loved feeling the process of delivery and next time, I want to give birth at home. :) Yeah, right... next time.... I'm not a young mommy.... </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Be thankful I left out years worth of details, whew... that brought bittersweet tears to my eyes. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I know God is real. I see him every day when I look at my babies. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Until next time,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Kellie</span><br />

After all, it has been weeks since my body has wanted to change bedtime to 6:00pm. However, no one else in this house agrees. <br />
<br />
Mornings are also rough around here. Nobody wants to wake up at a decent time. Even with our battery-less automatic alarm clocks, it is difficult to convince our feet to hit the floor. <br />
<br />
These guys are so alarming, and yet they never go off at the same time morning after morning. I thought they did their thing at the break of daylight.... this is not true. I think they believe in, 'The earlier, the better', or 'Let's see what kind of response we get out of this'. They just better be glad they are so pretty and fun to watch.<br />

Quite frankly, I am a terrible blogger. I think I will put this on my list of New Year's resolutions. We will see. <br />
<br />
Just to give a quick update on what has been going on around here, Ella is THREE!! (That is the most imporant thing.) Also, Ella talked me into getting her a cat a while back, Cattie, and they have become super friends. Actually it is a very interesting relationship. <br />
We had determined the cat needed her own place to sleep so she wouldn't sleep with us, and by "us", I mean Aaron, Ella, Chochy, Phoebe, and myself. I just do not think we should add a cat to that lovely mix. So, as a team, we decided the bathroom would become Cattie's bedroom. <br />
This has turned out to be a good thing for everyone except Cattie. Like most kittens, she gets in trouble alot. And when she is doing something Ella does not approve of, Ella grabs her up and throws her gently(ha!) into her 'bedroom'. This is followed with Ella screaming, "Bad cat. Stay in your room!" ......Poor kitty.<br />
<br />
This is my precious little cat-loving, fake smile angel.<br />

It is lovely outside and it is SO much easier to clean up outdoor toys than the gigantic mound of multiple messes Ella makes while playing inside. I really think she can not stay focused on the same activity for more than 3 minutes at a time. <br />
Also, I like to sit back and watch as she plays and creates. My little doodlebug is an amazing creature.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Fx9TbAQGQpI/TndWhHlodYI/AAAAAAAAAQw/Giii5Qe6IKs/s1600/DSC_0192.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" rba="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Fx9TbAQGQpI/TndWhHlodYI/AAAAAAAAAQw/Giii5Qe6IKs/s400/DSC_0192.JPG" width="400px" /></a></div><br />

I think the little artist is adorable... even though she is missing something. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--u0fcabXlzA/TndZL10bOII/AAAAAAAAARE/vPgmyjC3Jt4/s1600/DSC_0206.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" rba="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--u0fcabXlzA/TndZL10bOII/AAAAAAAAARE/vPgmyjC3Jt4/s400/DSC_0206.JPG" width="400px" /></a></div><br />

</div> And that "something" would be her pants. <br />
<br />

They really do love each other, maybe... and you can really tell... maybe. I still haven't decided if this is appropriate behavior from a two-year-old and her cat.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1XCZRfQYU8Y/TmFgbP3miII/AAAAAAAAANE/_G5wdefyBPQ/s1600/DSC_0155.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1XCZRfQYU8Y/TmFgbP3miII/AAAAAAAAANE/_G5wdefyBPQ/s400/DSC_0155.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />

But I have always heard cats have nine lives. I hope so.<br />

Ella loves her sunflowers that she planted a couple months ago. They are coming to the end of their beauty stage, but she still likes to go pick out her favorite one, which is usually a different one every day. I think we will plant many more for years to come.<br />

Congratulations Daddy!! And the festivities were a big deal. I had prior obligations so Poppy, Grammy, and Aunt Haley took Ella out to have a little outdoor fun.<br />
<br />
I am still in shock that it went very well. Of course, Ella is a risk-seeking litle girl, so I guess I should really not be at all surprised that she loved this first-time activity. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eqbMJwv6-xQ/TluEaaInPeI/AAAAAAAAAMI/3OsVnyC2ovc/s1600/DSC_0083.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" qaa="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eqbMJwv6-xQ/TluEaaInPeI/AAAAAAAAAMI/3OsVnyC2ovc/s400/DSC_0083.JPG" width="400px" /></a></div><br />
I am so thankful to Grammy for capturing this first for Ella. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0S_fVN2NQHA/TluEvh18k2I/AAAAAAAAAMM/VG77zMfKfEY/s1600/DSC_0085.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" qaa="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0S_fVN2NQHA/TluEvh18k2I/AAAAAAAAAMM/VG77zMfKfEY/s400/DSC_0085.JPG" width="400px" /></a></div><br />
I am pretty sure that this little diva is the only cowgirl wearing a pink tutu. This was her outfit of choice for the day. No arguments from Mommy. I love my frilly girl.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ixsZaFt8iN8/TluFIYrDjxI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/ST_9Ngofhds/s1600/DSC_0086.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" qaa="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ixsZaFt8iN8/TluFIYrDjxI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/ST_9Ngofhds/s400/DSC_0086.JPG" width="400px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Also, they went for a little "Tractor Ply" shopping. Definitely a favorite activity for Ella. She is already a professional shopper. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ezJayafUOCs/TluFctRO8ZI/AAAAAAAAAMU/ubb0ce-T_uA/s1600/DSC_0094.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" qaa="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ezJayafUOCs/TluFctRO8ZI/AAAAAAAAAMU/ubb0ce-T_uA/s400/DSC_0094.JPG" width="400px" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;">Poppy and Ella just look so cute walking holding hands... aww... so much love... and so much play. I am sure they are discussing tractors (a.k.a. lawn mowers). </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Supporting Tractor Ply,</div><div style="text-align: left;">Kellie</div>Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13543446917353111052noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8882493481759402054.post-37548853602632907662011-08-23T21:05:00.000-05:002011-08-23T21:05:44.832-05:00A girl and her kittenAaron and I have been discussing getting Ella a kitty. Well, to tell you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, Aaron has been trying to convince me that she needs one. <br />
<br />
Lucky for both of them, a friend of Ella's, Lauren, gave her one. I will admit, it is precious. Of course Aaron is excited too. Mommy is still trying to be convinced.... or 'purred to' in kitty language, that a small, hairy, mischevious feline belongs in a family with so many dogs, and not to mention all the other mouths I feed on a daily basis. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8yqNMCArGbc/TlRZHcRTeKI/AAAAAAAAAL4/G2TOQCF0td8/s1600/kitty1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300px" qaa="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8yqNMCArGbc/TlRZHcRTeKI/AAAAAAAAAL4/G2TOQCF0td8/s400/kitty1.jpg" width="400px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left">This was the purr-fect kitty for Ella because she told me she wanted a little kitty that turns into a big kitty, and you know, she showed me hand signals and everything, so she must have done the appropriate research. </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">The name of this little one is still to be determined. However, Ella is calling her Katty. Cute name. I created this little shop and I hand-make all my own bows. Hair comes natural for this family, and Ella loves a good hair bow, so this sort of kills two birds with one stone. <br />

Oh, and about the work comment, not so much work, but more like do something. And, of course, I must have an activity I can share with the almost three-year-old in the house. However, she is a truthful critic. <br />

Back to creating,<br />

This is the fluffiest puppy I have ever seen. He sure is a wild one. You know, puppies sure can run and bite/chew and squeal and so on... just all the normal puppy stuff. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7ufGCpeJUB8/TjIk-iu8j2I/AAAAAAAAAJ4/9AJ83n0v6oY/s1600/DSC_1078.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7ufGCpeJUB8/TjIk-iu8j2I/AAAAAAAAAJ4/9AJ83n0v6oY/s400/DSC_1078.JPG" t$="true" width="400px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left">We knew for a couple days we would be bringing him home, so we talked about a name. After deliberation, and Aaron and I spouting out semi-normal names and Ella insisting we name him something that starts with an "L", for example; Lizzy, Lilly, Lucy etc., she names everything an "L" name, even the boys. We decided the only appropriate name for this boy would be, Willie the Giant, you know, from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. After all, he is 10 months old and already weighs 125 pounds..... </div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">YES, your eyes do not deceive you, one hundred twenty-five pounds. It is hard for me to take in every time.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">His size really resembles the miniture pony a few doors down.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">And that is just a rough estimate. I hear he will be huge when full-grown. I think I will look up the word 'huge' in the dictionary, because I thought he was already HUGE.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TQPzK6ky3zI/TjImsrzanLI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/gYTSM8Rf7Bc/s1600/DSC_1079.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TQPzK6ky3zI/TjImsrzanLI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/gYTSM8Rf7Bc/s400/DSC_1079.JPG" t$="true" width="400px" /></a></div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">This picture does this puppy's size no justice. I think I will have "Will Work For Food" put on the name plate on his collar. I wonder if this will convince the neighbors to feed him too. He sure does eat a lot. </div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">By the way, Willie is a full-blooded Pyrenees, Great Pyrenees to be correct. He will handle our light-work and keep the goats safe and sound so we can sleep at night.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">I could not convince Lizzy to get close enough to compare the two. </div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ELqCNAFDxFo/TjIn7jsC72I/AAAAAAAAAKA/LrFxHZsCG1w/s1600/DSC_1081.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400px" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ELqCNAFDxFo/TjIn7jsC72I/AAAAAAAAAKA/LrFxHZsCG1w/s400/DSC_1081.JPG" t$="true" width="265px" /></a></div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">I am pretty sure she was giving me the silent treatment. She has not been thrilled with Willie the Giant intruding on her territory. I tried explaning that with Willie here, she can focus on her beauty sleep. </div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HsXzv5Um1jg/TjIoxyJSfWI/AAAAAAAAAKE/cjq9wK04G3M/s1600/DSC_1082.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400px" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HsXzv5Um1jg/TjIoxyJSfWI/AAAAAAAAAKE/cjq9wK04G3M/s400/DSC_1082.JPG" t$="true" width="265px" /></a></div><br />
I felt like I was being looked at through the eyes of a teenager. I could almost hear her mumble, "Mom, come on. All that monster is good for is barking and eating." <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5XiCoLlfaAk/TjIpfi382pI/AAAAAAAAAKI/wCpEdxmMrD4/s1600/DSC_1083.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5XiCoLlfaAk/TjIpfi382pI/AAAAAAAAAKI/wCpEdxmMrD4/s400/DSC_1083.JPG" t$="true" width="400px" /></a></div><br />
I just love this face. <br />

<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">We are all a little tired today. Last night was basically and all-nighter on the farm. Sometimes, not very often for us thankfully, things happen and you have no choice but to stay up and alert. </div>Yesterday we started on the new barn. It is going to be about 16' by 20' or so when complete. Just something small that we can control easily and keep all the animals in cozy at night. Also, we will have a loft in it for Ella to play in. This will keep her occupied when we have to be the ones chasing goats, doing the not-so-fun parts of dealing with animals.<br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ePvRs_7cZpI/TiNQtwDsdAI/AAAAAAAAAJw/bJK545fpBOI/s1600/DSC_1072.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" m$="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ePvRs_7cZpI/TiNQtwDsdAI/AAAAAAAAAJw/bJK545fpBOI/s400/DSC_1072.JPG" width="400px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Today, I wish we would have started the barn earlier, like about a week ago, because an unexpected visitor, or visitors, changed our lives at about 2:00 a.m. </div><div align="left">Lizzy woke me up barking and I woke Aaron up quickly telling him to go check on her. She doesn't bark unless there is something to be telling mommy and daddy about. In this case, she was a good little alert doggie. </div><div align="left">As Aaron was running out the back door, down to the goats, my farmer instinct kicked in. I grabbed my weapon of choice(which will remain untold) and took off outside too. Thankfully my baby girl is a professional sleeper, I did not hesitate to leave Chochy in charge as I was running to assist Aaron. After a considerable amount of fighting off dogs and searching for all 14 goats, we were only able to round up 12 of them. Aaron did find the other 2 but they went to goat heaven. Only 2 others had injuries and so far, we are able to say they will heal just fine. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-q4HL8aLHQV0/TiNS-IVI-SI/AAAAAAAAAJ0/ro2K7XFqniU/s1600/DSC_1073.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" m$="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-q4HL8aLHQV0/TiNS-IVI-SI/AAAAAAAAAJ0/ro2K7XFqniU/s400/DSC_1073.JPG" width="400px" /></a></div><div align="left">We did have to use some at-home farm medication called Blu-Kot. This is powerful and staining to anything and everything in it's path. Needless to say, Aaron and I have blue hands and thanks to my trusty flip flops, my feet are blue too. I asked him what to do to get it off, his reply, "It has to wear off." Oh well. </div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div align="left">I will leave you in peace knowing the goats will be making a short ride later this evening back to my parents' house to the other fenced in area where they will be protected by 10,000 volts. </div><div align="left">All I have to say is, 'Take that you crazy dogs, I hope you are introduced to those 10,000 volts. I can only handle so many band-aids on this heart at one time'.</div><div align="left"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"></div>Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13543446917353111052noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8882493481759402054.post-56613304857211439782011-07-16T21:23:00.000-05:002011-07-16T21:23:02.238-05:00Thing 1 & Thing 2I would like to take a moment to introduce to you...<br />

</span></div>Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13543446917353111052noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8882493481759402054.post-57568327724486601472011-07-09T22:42:00.000-05:002011-07-09T22:42:53.204-05:00Mother Nature<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">We love new additions to the farm. Especially when the little ones come unexpected... well, most of the time. We do not appreciate a mother nanny or hen dropping out a newborn during a storm like a couple weeks ago. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I know a hen does not "drop out" a newborn, but hatching out babies can come at bad times too. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">This is not the case. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">We, meaning Aaron, fed the feathery livestock today and discovered some new babies. This is exciting for us all. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">We, again meaning Aaron, took the new one's away from their mother to put them in a nice, cozy, safe place. Now the little dudes and dudettes can grow big and serve a purpose instead of just being cute.</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-envhhf_FDD0/ThkbdX93utI/AAAAAAAAAJE/qz55eBZ0AqQ/s1600/DSC_1015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212px" m$="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-envhhf_FDD0/ThkbdX93utI/AAAAAAAAAJE/qz55eBZ0AqQ/s320/DSC_1015.JPG" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">For now, we will just enjoy the cuteness.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

Sorry to those couple of you that come here to read about us. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">A few changes around the Hosler farm include:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">1. We moved. Maybe that will be my excuse for not blogging. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana;">2. Ella is growing(not a shocker). And most importantly, she is an artist and has an incredible sense of fashion. I know it comes totally natural, well, maybe the artist part, but seriously, my baby is a genius.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7b27-vIjT6Y/Tg-oShmOW8I/AAAAAAAAAIM/rcGA5iTdzHs/s1600/DSC_0960.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" i$="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7b27-vIjT6Y/Tg-oShmOW8I/AAAAAAAAAIM/rcGA5iTdzHs/s320/DSC_0960.JPG" width="212px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><span style="font-family: Verdana;">3. The goats are happier than ever</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j9uCAAOg03k/Tg-j3iMoMFI/AAAAAAAAAII/OylEMbqlKHo/s1600/DSC_0951.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" i$="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j9uCAAOg03k/Tg-j3iMoMFI/AAAAAAAAAII/OylEMbqlKHo/s400/DSC_0951.JPG" width="400px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">With the exception of this crazy goat, we refer to her as 'whitey' or 'white goat' or 'never satisfied'. All the goats are loving the new junk to eat. White goat believes the grass is always greener on the other side. </span></div><div align="center" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-45uMUU5q_KE/Tg-pnUnsDQI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/hKMVDyvVk9Y/s1600/DSC_0933.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265px" i$="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-45uMUU5q_KE/Tg-pnUnsDQI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/hKMVDyvVk9Y/s400/DSC_0933.JPG" width="400px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Oh, I almost forgot about someone. We adopted Clyde. He is currently the outsider. He can only stay with the others for a short amount of time. When he goes from boy to possible father candidate, he will move down to my parents. He will be excited to have girlfriends. He is a Boar, where all the others are Pygmy's, except for Goofy. We will save Goofy for another day. You will love her.</span><br />

She definitely has not had a lot of time to spend with the animals since she has been going to Vacation Bible School. </span><br />

Every day we go out and steal their eggs and never once give thanks to them. I mean, sometimes we even take the warm eggs right out from under one of those big girls. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-quigaihaCpE/TcB5EuTYhOI/AAAAAAAAAG8/tUGiUpXF6XM/s1600/DSC_0268.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212px" j8="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-quigaihaCpE/TcB5EuTYhOI/AAAAAAAAAG8/tUGiUpXF6XM/s320/DSC_0268.JPG" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Ella and I spent Saturday evening dying eggs to make them egg-stra special for the big day of repeatedly hiding and hunting them. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gIsZndBl_qI/TcB6NeIm-CI/AAAAAAAAAHE/99UElB8KStc/s1600/DSC_0313.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212px" j8="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gIsZndBl_qI/TcB6NeIm-CI/AAAAAAAAAHE/99UElB8KStc/s320/DSC_0313.JPG" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I am so glad the dye that Ella had on her face, ear and shoulder was easily removed by my makeup remover towels. The mixture of colors was a very gruesome green, not at all matching this beautiful dress. </span></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nSr4gIUEzGs/TcB7oQu-FtI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/N3Yg9Ytv0dc/s1600/DSC_0358.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212px" j8="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nSr4gIUEzGs/TcB7oQu-FtI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/N3Yg9Ytv0dc/s320/DSC_0358.JPG" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

This baby was born Monday, April 18. I would usually not make a big deal out of a baby goat or even make a post with one because they usually find a home when they are less than a week old. This, however, is a different case. This little baby boy will be making his permanent home here, on the farm. Ella has decided he has a name, Marshmallow, and his last name will be Hosler.<img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wViyi7-kgDc/Tb1namd2-mI/AAAAAAAAAGk/dejqHXjaZlc/s320/IMG00795-20110421-1753.jpg" width="320" /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I guess we will keep him... and her.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wkIk7jMgL0E/Tb1n-rBzWHI/AAAAAAAAAGo/e8iGCsBTVR8/s1600/IMG00812-20110427-1714.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wkIk7jMgL0E/Tb1n-rBzWHI/AAAAAAAAAGo/e8iGCsBTVR8/s320/IMG00812-20110427-1714.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">I am sure this baby will be just as spoiled as the little girl. I look forward to the fun times. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

So, we brought home 20 Rhode Island Reds. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RVNDWXmB44o/TaDSKJF0RVI/AAAAAAAAAGc/4G8QvPPZA48/s1600/reds2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" r6="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RVNDWXmB44o/TaDSKJF0RVI/AAAAAAAAAGc/4G8QvPPZA48/s320/reds2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">They are about 4 days old.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">While confirming with Aaron over the phone, that I really wanted to make this purchase, it did cross my mind as to what to do, or rather, where in the world would I put these babies. All of our coops are full and so are all the brooders. Considering these babies are only a few days old, I knew I would have to put them in a brooder, where they will have to live for several weeks until they feather out. So I immediately started brainstorming... and it just came to me.... GRANDDADDY!! He has everything, and I mean, EVERYTHING! So, Ella and I stopped by to ravage around in his stuff. I explained to Granddaddy what I needed and this is the outcome. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q6SuTUEtukM/TaDTNxB69RI/AAAAAAAAAGg/ClRnw8WEkAE/s1600/reds1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" r6="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q6SuTUEtukM/TaDTNxB69RI/AAAAAAAAAGg/ClRnw8WEkAE/s320/reds1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">All you need is a 55 gallon metal drum with the top and bottom attached(to get two out of) and an old hose. Cut out the middle of the drum, slice the hose and cover the sharp exposed metal(so your two-year-old doesn't get another boo boo). Put on your clamp light with a heat bulb or 100 watt in and it is ready.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> It is genious if I say so myself. I do know I will have to make a cover soon or they will hop out, but I have that covered, literally. I have some old screen that will work great. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Wish our newest babies good luck!</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

Lizzy.</span><span style="color: #444444; font-family: Georgia;"> </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-owNZU--JTyQ/TZ_QKjTOLdI/AAAAAAAAAF8/wYZ6HRzWuMI/s1600/lizzy4.bmp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" r6="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-owNZU--JTyQ/TZ_QKjTOLdI/AAAAAAAAAF8/wYZ6HRzWuMI/s320/lizzy4.bmp" width="320" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;"><span style="color: #444444; font-family: Georgia;">She is a Great Pyernese, our guardian dog. Lizzy is a special girl. She is 4 months old. We have had her for about 3 weeks. She is such a beauty.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tZyvykElKAg/TZ_QyZvT9RI/AAAAAAAAAGA/tl0UWpfpewk/s1600/lizzy3.bmp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" r6="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tZyvykElKAg/TZ_QyZvT9RI/AAAAAAAAAGA/tl0UWpfpewk/s320/lizzy3.bmp" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">To celebrate Lizzy coming to our farm, she had to have an introduction bath.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-noqDxerClCc/TZ_RavshHAI/AAAAAAAAAGE/wY8_1vqV-UQ/s1600/lizzy2.bmp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" r6="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-noqDxerClCc/TZ_RavshHAI/AAAAAAAAAGE/wY8_1vqV-UQ/s320/lizzy2.bmp" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">And it was interesting.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-u-6I8T9hsSc/TZ_R6hbUs4I/AAAAAAAAAGI/Xu5JPJGsssM/s1600/wet+lizzy.bmp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" r6="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-u-6I8T9hsSc/TZ_R6hbUs4I/AAAAAAAAAGI/Xu5JPJGsssM/s320/wet+lizzy.bmp" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I am sure there will be many firsts with Lizzy around. I mean, she has already proven herself as protector of the chickens. Now, on to the goats. And hopefully, she will teach Chochy how to behave himself like any good dog does. </span></div>Kelliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13543446917353111052noreply@blogger.com0
